Alex Costas: At its simplest, our position is to teach the person to fish. We want to provide the tools, like if you work with our team, we're not going to build your guide or tell your story. Our position is we're going to give you all of the skills and resources and trainings to get the job done.

Hilary Knight: Hello, and welcome to The Three Bells. This podcast is one of a series brought to you by AEA Consulting for the Global Cultural Districts Network in which we explore what's happening around the world at those busy intersections of cultural and urban life. The series and supporting materials can be found at www.thethreebells.net. If you like our content, please subscribe and review us wherever you find your podcast.
My name is Hilary Knight. I'm a senior associate with AEA Consulting, and my guest today is Alex Costas, head of recruiting, onboarding, and relationship management at Bloomberg Connects. Now, if you work in arts and culture, then you will almost certainly know about Bloomberg's support.
Alex's role is to lead Bloomberg's efforts to bring cultural organisations from around the world onto the Bloomberg Connects platform and guide them through to successful launch. Before he joined Bloomberg, Alex worked in marketing for the New York City Economic Development Corporation. And before that, he held roles at NYC Tourism + Conventions, promoting New York City to businesses and visitors alike. So he understands cities, culture, and digital – a heady trio. And I'm keen to hear more.
Hi Alex. Welcome to The Three Bells. It's a real pleasure to be speaking with you today.

Alex Costas: Ah, thank you. Nice to be speaking with you as well. Always great to have a little intro. I think every call should start with someone introing each other. It's a fantastic feeling.
